I’m always amazed that I can use the same leaves in different images and create something entirely different each time. I have used Burning Bush, Elm, Pine needles & Iris in quite a few of my Art images. I love the soft colors in this one!
This image began with my desire to use the stunning bright red Burning Bush leaves. Interestingly enough, when in the shade the leaves turn pink and even whitish. Lots of colors to work with!
So...the flowers are made with red & pink burning bush leaves plus yellow peony leaves. Iris and day lily were used for the stems. You can ID the lily frond on the left by the one ridge down the center of the leaf! I love the patterns in the Elm leaves across the bottom. Yellow & green Pine needles sprout from the Elm. Dark green butterfly bush leaves are at the base of the center stem.
A soft peachy/yellow background was painted with watercolors, my favorite painting medium.
As leaves are biodegradable and will fade and deteriorate quickly, original Art is scanned immediately after creation, preserving their beauty long after originals are gone. Enjoy!
