Don't Be Koi

"Just love the image title here, so colorful!!"   K.D.

Yea, I love to play with words for my titles! For these fish, I researched images of tropical environments and selected leaves that mimic underwater plants. I love the sweeping curves of the fish bodies and tails. Was lucky to find spotted green leaves for bellies! The pink petals in lower corners are Peony.  The leaves in the upper corners, with a wonderful etched pattern, are peony leaves.

Other leaves used are artemesia, yarrow, goat’s beard, blueberry, yellow rododendron, Japanese beetle chewed grape leaves (ugh!), burning bush plus queen anne's lace and vetch flowers. My sister loves to fish; I love the water and beach; plus to hear the brook in my back yard on a summer night!

People come from all over the USA to fish the rivers and streams where I live here in the Catskill Foothills.  Nothing like fresh water and clean air!

As leaves are biodegradable and will fade and deteriorate quickly, original Art is scanned immediately after creation, preserving their beauty long after originals are gone.   Enjoy!
